Graeme Altmann is a contemporary Australian landscape artist renowned for his evocative seascapes and coastal narratives. Born in Warrnambool on Victoria’s rugged southwest coast, Altmann draws profound inspiration from the sea and its surrounding landscapes. His work explores themes of stability and change, reflecting on humanity's relationship with the natural world. Utilizing oil paints, bronze sculptures, and installations, Altmann's practice delves into the interplay of form, texture, and atmosphere.

Altmann completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Deakin University in 1986 and has since been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Australia. His works are held in prestigious collections, including the University of Sydney, the Dobell Foundation, and the ANZ Art Collection. In 2005, he was awarded the Mission to Seafarers Art Prize.Altmann's art continues to resonate with audiences, offering a contemplative exploration of the coastal environment.
